Tongue Thrush

Oral Thrush - Due to Oral Hygiene PArt 2?

I have been going to doctors for 2 months..I have been on long does of Diflucan and nystatin - it has not helped. I am very tired, my tongue is coated white - more so in the morning, my mouth very dry, my lips cracked at the sides, my tongue has white pin point dots on the sides of my tongue etc...I just went back to a walk in since all the times I was diagnosed with Oral Thrush it was through a visible inspection but this time the doctor scraped some off my tongue and came back and said it is not thrush. All he said was to use a toothbrush scraper and that it is hairy tongue. Too many docs and too many different answers - the test he did should be conclusive right?

  1. Well if the test says it's not thrush AND Diflucan and nystatin don't work, then that's probably conclusive. However it does sound ALOT like oral thrush. So if I were you I'd try something else. You can buy oral disinfectants where you can paint your mouth on the inside to kill almost EVERYTHING including any yeast. Some strains of yeast are less likely to get picked up by tests and can still cause infections. You might also want to try rinsing with boric acid (spit it all out after! though it's no more toxic than salt, contrary to popular belief), with fresh crushed garlic (contains allicin that kills fungi!) or with something to kill tinea. If those don't work then it probably isn't yeast...
