Is it mouth thrush?
I believe I have mouth thrush, mainly cause I feel that my tongue is the source that causes bad breath. It's really on the back of my tongue, where I feel more smell is coming from. How do I know it? If I lick the outside of my palm it really smells nasty. Especially in the morning it feels really uncomfortable and after eating some sweets. Should I ask my doctor to prescribe Nystatin? This unpleasant feeling lasts for so long, I hope to get rid of it finally. Would be really appreciated for any piece of advise. Thank you!

- Sounds like thrush, probably wouldnt hurt to go see a Dr. I know thrush usually does make the tongue "sensitive". Until your able to go to the Dr. eat yogurt. Thrush is like a yeast infection in the mouth....so try eating alot of yogurt, couldnt hurt.
- Thrush is very painful, and yes it can cause bad breath, but if you don't have the pain it may not be thrush..it could be your teeth...go to your doctor and get it checked out.
- If u r sure the smell is coming from ur mouth and this is difficult to be sure from, in this case without any white spots on ur tongue I'll advice with mouth washer 3 times per day and also u have to brush ur teeth more frequently at least 2 times per day.
- That doesn't sound like thrush, but maybe a sinus infection. Thrush causes pain in your mouth, if I'm not mistaken. My infant daughter had it once.
- I would get it checked. Thrush though easily treated is not common in healthy adults. Most people's immune system protects from thrush however immuno compromised persons may not be. Are you currently on any medications that can lower immune responses?? My suggestion is two fold..First seek treatment for the fungal infection (Nystatiin is one of a few medications available) Next and most important you need to discuss with your doctor the reason it occured.
- Thrush usually appears as white plaques in the mouth. Do you see anything on your tongue? Also thrush is not common in healthy individuals unless you have been on antibiotics which would cause the thrush to appear. Thrush in adults is usually if you have a compromised immune system (cancer, HIV ...)
