Tongue Thrush

has anyone ever had strep throat or thrush if so did you have flesh color bumps on the back of your tongue w/?

a sore throat? and a white tongue right before the bumps? what is it? only answer with familiarity

1. Are the bumps only in the mouth? Are there any on the body? Maybe chest, back or legs? Check out this link. It sounds almost like Scarlet Fever. My daughter had it, you need to get antibiotics.
2. Yes, pretty sure thats strep throat, is it white on the back of your throat too? You should see a doctor so you can get a prescription so you can get cured fast:)
3. Yup, you either have strep throat or a rare case of kankersores. Its probably strep throat, i get that a lot and actually have it again right now. Get it checked out by a docter. If its kankersores they just hurt like crazy and u cna't eat french fries or anything but strep throat can be really serious.
4. I have had strep throat and thrush both more than once. I think the flesh colored bumps are just taste buds that are swollen from the irritation. I get them too. Have you been on antibiotics recently? That's what I usually get thrush from. See your doctor for a proper diagnosis and for something to swish and swallow or take orally to clear this up. I've had this so bad I could hardly swallow at all, and if it's strep and not just yeast, you need medicine for it.
5. Yes it is strep!! Get to the doctors ASAP. The only way to completely get rid of it is to take antibiotics. It will go away for a little bit and then come back!
6. I believe that everyone has "bumps" on the back of their tongue. What makes you think that you have thrush? It is usually caused (in adults) from oral or inhaled steroids. I had it once from my asthma medication. Strep can only be diagnosed with a culture done at your doctor's office. Many viral infections cause a sore throat and white stuff around your tonsils. The presence of it doesn't mean it is strep. Strep is a specific bacteria. If it is just a virus, the doctor will most likely not prescribe anything. Do you have a fever? If it persists, call the doc. Hope you feel better.
7. I have had both. I had strep throat when I had mono which had white spots on the back of my throat. I had thrush after two courses of antibiotics, it was like a white film that covered my tongue and caused a lot of pain. I still have bumps on my tongue from the thrush that will never go away but I had a severe case of it. Now they are the color of my tongue.
