What does thrush look like in a babys mouth?
Does it look like a white coating on the tongue or curdles? I have seen both, and my baby has the white coating, but it is not curdles... its just a white coating. Does that mean he has thrush? I am going to the DR on Monday, but just want to know.

- It looks like a bunch of white spots all over the baby's tongue and can spread to the cheeks and throat.
- It looks like curdled milk on the babies tongue, cheeks, and sometimes the roof of the mouth and throat. The baby will probably fuss while feeding if it is thrush. Try using a cloth or baby toothbrush to wipe the area. If it comes off, it is just milk, but if not, you should call the doctor for a prescription.
- It can really look either way depending on how bad the infection is. If you can wipe the white aways with a cloth or baby toothbrush it is just milk. If not, its most likely thrush. If you are nursing mom and baby should both be treated. You will have to make sure to sterilize all binky's and bottle nipples also! Good Luck
- My son got thrush alot when he was younger. I agree with the first two answers. It is caused by not sterilizing nipples, bottles and pacifiers.
- it looks like a film of white on babys tongue with thicker white spots on it too, also in the roof of mouth too. It sounds very much like thrush to me.
