- take baby to docs, they will prescribe something if need be, and it will be free so you wont have to buy anything
- Go to your Doctor and they will prescribe a cream that you can rub in your baby's mouth. Dont think you can get it over the counter as your child is so young.
- Same reply as Sara - doctors.
- If you are still seeing your midwife tell her and she should contact the doctor for a prescription. If not make an appointment to see your doctor. My daughter had oral thrush and was treated with a liquid medicine called Nystatin. Hope you get sorted.
- Nystan drops-but use a thrush bottom cream,as it usually goes through the system and finds a second home in a moist nappy good luck x
- my daughter was only a few weeks old and she had thrush so I asked her midwife and she said get Nilstat oral drop and I was able to get that over the counter worked wonders. Good luck
- Before giving your baby anything you should get it diagnosed by a doctor. They will then give you some drops to give to baby, Nystatin. It clears up pretty quickly and will be great if it clears before it affects feeding... congratulations!!
- You can use a drop of gentian violet. Its cheap and effective. Gentian violet will leave a violet stain, but it will disappear gradually
- i used a gel/cream called daktarin, you should be able to get it from any chemist, but be sure to ask for the oral thrush one cos you could end up getting something completely different, and believe me you don't want to be putting anything else in you babies mouth,
- Daktarin - u can buy it from the chemist, take ur son in with u so u can show them it. Chemists are allowed to tell u if its ok or not. I use it for my son and he is 5weeks old.
- The doctor will give you something for him and if you are breastfeeding you will need something aswell
- my son the same wen he was a wk old, i mentioned it to the midwife wen she came out and she just foned my docs surgery and they wrote out a prescription that day and he started the medicine that night, cleared it up in a few days
