Tongue Thrush

I have a vaginal yeast infection and now I have small circular bumps on my tongue, is this thrush? I have a vaginal yeast infection and I have a medical prescription for it, but I recently noticed around six small circular bumps on my tongue, is this thrush or regualar symptoms that accompany a vaginal yeast infection. There is a white coating on my tongue, but the bumps are the color of my tongue, pink.

infant thrush symptoms? I have a 7 week old son- He has had a thin layer of white on his tongue since birth, it now seems a bit thicker and the color has changed. He has also started having some digestion issues and im wondering if they are connected? Any input is wecome.... Could this be thrush? What are signs and sympyoms of thrush? Natural remedies? Also baby is only breast fed and uses a binky.

I have had oral thrush (tongue) and tried loads of different things for it but wont clear up!? I have had thrush on the back of my tongue for over a month now. I went to my pharmacy and they gave me some daktarin gel, which did not work. I have also had some fungil lozengers from my gp but they also have not cleared it. also tried mouth wash and a spray for my tongue but none worked. It also hurts to swallow food and feel like i am choking when i eat. I have also had constipation (not sure if it is linked) I have recently (about 2 weeks) been feeling very tired all day and needing sleep throughout the day. People have also commented on how regularly i am getting a cold. Any ideas of what could be wrong. And has anyone else had these symptoms?

What are thrush symptoms? My baby has had a white tongue for about 2 weeks now. I didn't think much of it, until she also developed a diaper rash that looks splotchy and doesn't seem to be going away. Today, I noticed a white film on her upper lip and I tried to wipe it away and it would not go away. Also, for the past 2 weeks, she has been spitting up A LOT (2-5 times per hour and from one bottle to the other - more than normal and seems to have a lot of mucous mixed with it). Could the spitting up be related, or something different? My baby is 4 months old. Thank you! I just looked in her cheek and she has white "cottage cheese" stuff in there, so I'm sure it is thrush, but would this cause her spitting up? She has pretty much been eating the same amount, although she does push the bottle away a lot. I've had my baby to the Dr. on the spitting up - and she has been prescribed zantac, but nothing is helping, and it has gotten worse over the past few weeks, so I just kind of wondered if it could be related.

Can my breastfeeding son have thrush without me getting it? I sometimes notice white stuff on his tongue. I'm assuming it's either leftover milk or that he's got thrush. It gets lighter, but I can't tell if it ever completely goes away. But I have no symptoms, & I've had it before with my daughter, so I know what it feels like. But sometimes I notice the whiteness quite a while after he's nursed. Do I need to try to get him to take a drink of water to rinse his mouth to prevent thrush, if the milk is staying in his mouth that long? That's what my daughter's ped. recommended, but she was quite a bit older (maybe 8 or 9 months?) while my son is only 3 weeks old. Ideas?

My three year old has had a white film on her tongue? My three year old has a white film on her tongue that cannot be wiped away. She has had it for about a week and has no other symptoms. She had thrush as a baby and it looks the same as that but I thought that could only occur in babies. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thrush?? How is it looks like, symptoms of HIV? 78 days ago, I had sex with a sex workers, my first time, sad enough that the condom was broken at the top of the tip. I have done 3 test since, 30 days, 50 and 60 days, all results are negative. I am waiting for 12weeks windows period for another test. However, I am suffer for serious anxiety, especially today, i found out that my tongue has some tiny white spots that look like canker sore, which irritate me. it that what we call Thrush??? i am scare to death already. can someone help??

Milky taste in mouth = oral thrush? For the past 2 weeks I've noticed a milky taste in my mouth, and it reoccurs about 5-10 mins after eating food with a distinct taste! I've been reading up on this and I've noticed that this seems to be one of the symptoms of oral thrush - I also have white/milky patches on my tongue which are a symptom of oral thrush (and look reaaaally disgusting), and I've had this symptom for at least 3 years. Do you think I could have oral thrush? I'm not sexually active and have never had thrush before. I have a healthy diet and drink lots of water. However, I do stress alot, so maybe this could be a contributor? Any opinions?

Yeast infection on tongue? For those who have answers and not guessers. I not sure if I have thrush. My tongue gets a white coating on it,( but no sores, soreness or bleeding, patches as listed as symptoms). As soon as I brush and scrape it, the pink color returns. The whole tongue turns white, not in spots. I am hoping to find a good mouth wash to eliminate this. I know for thrush a prescription mouthwash of Nystatin is available. Yet, there are no yeast symptoms except the color turns. And the cheeks of my mouth are nice and clear. I have no white or grey patches in my mouth (gums, roof of mouth, inside cheeks), nor any raised or hard lesions.

What is wrong with my tongue? In March, I developed a white cut or sore on the right side of my tongue. This has happened before, and I assumed it would simply go away after a few days. Instead, the sore remained, and I developed white ridges on both sides of my tongue. My tongue was sore and sort of stiff. I waited, but it didn't go away for several days. I called a nurse hotline twice, but they could only guess (incorrectly) what it might be. (It's clearly not oral thrush.) Of course, I researched this condition extensively on the Internet, but the thing that sounds closest to it is "hairy leukoplakia". It can't be that, however, because I don't have the associated health care issues. The symptoms declined and almost disappeared as recently as April 20th, but now they're returning again! It's very uncomfortable and makes tasting, eating and drinking difficult. Not surprisingly citrus, coffee and wine seem to make the condition worse, but abstaining from these doesn't make it disappear. Any ideas? Oh yeah, to all of you geniuses who keep saying "Why don't you just go see a doctor?" -- I don't have health insurance at the moment. So either answer the question I asked -- if you can -- or spare me the ignorant advice. Besides that, based on previous experience, there seems to be little value in spending half the day at an HMO to see a doctor who also won't really know what the problem is without actually researching it. I'm looking for someone who actually has knowleadge that they can share. Thanks!

White stuff on baby's tongue? My baby has a milky film over her tongue and her doctor saw it and said, Oh she has a little milk on her tongue". It has not gone away but has not gotten worse. I looked it up and all I could find was thrush. But her tongue looks nothing like the photos and she has none of the symptoms. Could it be something else? Lamictal causing mouth & tongue to ulcer? I've been taking Lamictal for about 2 weeks now. I started at 25mg a day for a week, am now taking 25mg 2x a day for the last week. I am also taking 150mg Effexor (since about March). I noticed tonight that I have sores in my mouth and my tongue is white and "peeling". I know that they say watch for a rash but is this a serious side effect too? It is freaking me out and it is gross! I look like I have thrush, ugh. Oh, and my eyes are red and irritated too. Anyone else experience this? I did not take my dose tonight and am seeing my therapist tomorrow morning. (Background info: I started the Effexor for depression but then had symptoms of mania II (mild) which I had forgotten I used to have years ago because I had been struggling with depression for so many years, hence the Lamictal prescription. They think I am Bipolar II.)

My five month old is suddenly refusing to eat solids? Thrush?? He normally LOVES his organic rice cereal & fruits/veggies. Yet for the past couple of days he has been extremely fussy and acting like he doesn't want to eat. He has been breastfeeding okay, though---- so at least he is eating something. Sometimes he is being irritable about latching on though. He has also been waking up in the middle of the night--at 3 AM and fussing a LOT, nothing seems to calm him, he wants to stay up all night after that. He has never done this in the past. Can thrush cause these symptoms? Because, he had it when he was six weeks, and it came back, and I *suspect* that it is back again because his tongue is looking white AND my nipples are EXTREMELY sore. I put yogurt on my nipples and it helped quite a bit--- I did it before feeding him and it seemed to help him too. The doctor cannot see him until next week. WE just moved out of state last week, so we don't know of any place we can take him (like an urgent care? is this urgent??).

Can my newborn have thrush and I not have it on my nipples? Someone please help? My newborn 2 weeks old has thrush on his tongue. The pediatrician prescribed nystatin for him, which he does not really open his mouth for me to put on his tongue, andy suggestions first on how to apply it? And also on the prescription it says give 2 drops on tongue 4 times a day, but how much is actually a drop? The next question is do i need to get something for myself? I mean my nippples are not cracked or dry, he latches on correctly. I am not really feeling any symptoms like stinging sharp pain, other than the little pain when my milk comes in, could this be a symptom, i am not really sure. It does not hurt when he latches on, accept when he latches wrong, and he knows when that happens because he willl get upset and not suck and I have to reposition him on the breast. some one with experience please help me, with the application for him the nystatin and please tell me do i have to put sosomethingn me even if I dont think i have any sysymptomsCan I use some of the nystatin that I am giving him just to be on the safe side?

Thrush in Baby's Mouth? My 7 and half week old son has little white patches on the inside of his lower lip and his tongue. A neighbour noticed them this evening and said its thrush and I should take him to the doctor. The problem is, our surgery won't be open now till tommorrow morning - is it urgent enough to call the emergency doctor or will he be OK till tommorrow morning? He doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort and he's breastfeeding ok. Also, if my baby has thrush will I have any symptoms? Ongoing Thrush - HIV? Healthy 30 year old male- what do i do? Nov 06,I kissed a lady for a few min-that is it.A few weeks later I had white dots on the side of my tongue. I went to a walk in and they put me on nystatin-2 days later I went to my MD and he said it is Oral Thrush.He put me on 2 tab of fluconazole. It helped but came back.End of Dec, I did full blood work.My immune system was fine. Well as Feb rolled around it was still there- I did get the HIV test- it was neg.He looked at my tongue and noticed that the thrush is still there and spreading to the back of my tongue.He has put me on fluconazloe for 7 days-1 tablet a day.Could I have received this by kissing the lady?Also, all it says about this when reading about it is that it is HIVrelated.I got tested in Feb and it was neg. Causes of inflamed throat - allergy, infection or thrush? Hi, my throat and soft palate are very red, I have constant post nasal drip which feels like it burns when it comes down. The inside of my cheek is also a little swollen. There is one spot on my tonsil and has been for a quite a while and my tongue is coated. I saw one GP who prescribed me antibiotics for suspected Strep Throat, I'm awaiting the results for the swab, but another GP said not to take antibiotics because it was a type of thrush and I should use anti fungal oral solution. So I had a word with the pharmacist and I am taking both. However, my lips are dry and they tingle, I get cold sensations on my tongue and my nose is very itchy, my eyes water a bit too. My salivary glands are also feeling irritated. Is the cause of my throat and mouth symptoms possibly allergy related or infection related? Could it be related to a cold or to a wisdom tooth?

Oral Thrush? I've been off and on antibiotics for a tooth infection since Dec 07. I started another course last week and am not on day 7. I think I might have oral thrush from the antibiotics. My symptoms are as follows: Dryness, burning, red areas in throat and tongue. I thought I had eaten something bad lastnight but apparently... it has not gone away so considering I am on antibiotics, I'm worried I have oral thrush. Is there a Dr that can advise? How do I know, how do I get it diagnosed Dentist or Dr? How do I get rid of it? I have some Acidophilus and Garlic pills I am going to stat taking as well as eat Yogart. Any advice? I'm uncomfortable here. Thanks. Wanted to explain the antibiotic thing. My DDS prescribed Amox on Dec 4 during RC treatment. On Dec 21, I was put back on Amox because infection didn't go away. In Jan, another DDS prescribed Clyndamicin for a gum infection from flossing, which made me ill, so she put me on Penacillin. In late Jan I got a MRSA from a wound, and was put on Staph (something) for 10 days. All has been well since then... suddenly last week my tooth started hurting again... DDS wanted to put me on Clyndamicin but it makes me so ill she put me back on Amox. It is just a unfortunate mess really... that I am eagerly trying to get resolved... and seems now I might have oral thrush. Trust me, it is very depressing and painful to be going through all of this. I am a very healthy 32 yr old woman... I shouldn't have to suffer like this. Thanks for your help. No insurance.... just Care Credit and almost maxed out. I'm going to DDS 2 times today. My regular and a new one. We'll see what they both say. I'm sort of shaken up right now... anticipation and nerves are getting to me.

Does my baby have thrush? I recently came across an article about thrush and my one month old son and I seem to have a lot of the symptoms, such as white tongue, pulling off the breast and screaming bloody murder, then sucking and screaming, sucking and screaming, it goes on for at least a minute or so of this, he had a really bad diaper rash that wouldn't go away until I used cornstarch and now it starting to come back again (it's been a few days), and in me, my nipples are very sore, I have pains in my left breast and I have a history of yeast infections, although I didn't get any during pregnancy or at least a year before I got pregnant. I am wondering if I should start some kind of treatment now, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow in the late afternoon, but I want to give some relief to my boy. He seems to be in pain when he eats from me. I have heard to use Gentian Violet, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Acidophilus and Vinegar Rinses. What do you suggest? Anything will be helpful, thank you in advance.

HIV symptoms and how long they take to affect immune system? I had protected sex with a partner and now two weeks later I am having strange symptoms, I believe I may have oral thrush, I also had canker sores on my tongue that only lasted a day, and I have diarrhea. But then again I'm not in the cleanest area because I am deployed to Iraq. My question is how long does it take for HIV to break down your immune system enough to cause these symptoms and the person I had protected sex with is a deployed soldier as well. I also am a hypercaundriac which doesnt help with my symptoms either because I have been worrying ever since i had sex with her, so it may again be my mind playing tricks on me, one last question is when should I get tested the first time, I had sex Aug 10th, 2008 and havent touched her since.

Weird Gastro-Intestinal Symptoms Doctors or Med Students plz!!!? OK heres my symptoms.. 1)Constant mild upper chest pain (radiates to back right shoulderblade near spine) 2)White tongue coating, esp. after drinking alcohol (possibly thrush?) 3)Gassy and bloated feeling with frequent abdominal gas noises 4)Loose stools (constant) 5)An intermittent popping sensation (like knuckles) in the sternum (costochondritis?) 6)Weak and lethargic 7)Swollen glands in neck Chest X-ray and Barium swallow came back normal (except for evidence of reflux). Can GERD cause these kinds of problems? Im a 27yr old Male who has been otherwise healthy in the past... These symptoms have been constant over the last 2 1/2 months. I noticed these symptoms start right after a breakup with my girlfriend. Any ideas? I am getting bloodwork done next week. I am scaring myself with what I read about these symptoms online... Cancer/HIV etc..Is it possible that stress can be the underlying cause of these problems?? What is causing my tongue to react this way? Here is some background. I am a late twenties male, otherwise in good health. Two weeks ago I presented with a sinus infection. I was prescribed 875mg of augmentin. 4 days into the treatment I was having difficulty swallowing the pill. I was advised by the nurse at my doctors office to crush the pill and put it in apple sauce. I did so, and since my tongue has felt like tabasco sauce has been poured on it. Anything I do, eating, smoking. Anything besides eating bland food and water causes me discomfort. I realize smoking is bad but it has never caused me this level of discomfort before. I presented these symptoms to a local MD, and they said that I had Thrush and prescribed me an antifungle pill to take once only.. I took that pill yesterday yet something tells me my problem has nothing to do with thrush. I have no white spots on my tongue. Currently my tongue is Red, with a ton of enlarged visible fungiform papillae (Taste buds). No white anywhere in my mouth. Slightly hard to swallow food. My mouth is also extremely dry. Is it possible I chemically burned my tongue from the Augmentin? Have any ideas?

Thrush or not? My son's tongue is white in the back, and it is thick. I can scrape off with my fingernail, but it is alot. It is not on his cheeks or anything, only on the back center tongue. It is like a thick residue, not liquid. Is this thrush or no? Also, he is not breastfed,so I have to symptoms to compare. Thanks for your help! Oops, I meant " I have no syptoms to compare it to"

What's this white coating on my tongue? I dont think it's thrush because mine isnt white spots on tongue.. but rather, white coating like this pic: http://web.sc.itc.keio.ac.jp/kampo/vc/images/tongue2e1.jpg In the above pic, the whole tongue is covered in white while mine is still roughly 80% covered. I also cannot brush the white coating off no matter what without hurting my tongue.. it's as if it's part of the tongue but you can see it is "on higher elevation" than the rest of the tongue. What is this and should I be worried? I read one possible cause is HIV but the last time I had unprotected sex was 5 yrs ago.. wouldnt the symptoms show earlier if it is HIV?

Tongue problem! I will take any advice to figure this out!? After I eat food my tongue flares up with red swirly pathes and some light swirls as well. I do not understand why it does this. One time I ate some ice cream and afterwards my tongue flared up and soon felt a burning sensation as if I was burned my tongue on coffee. Some days are better than some, I have tried a food diary but nothing seems to make a pattern. I have complained to many doctors...is it thrush/candida (yeast infection in the digestive tract)?, is it GERD(acid indigestion), or something else? I have been perscribed Nystatin and now I am on Prevacid but I do not really see much getting better. I also get teeth indents on the sides of my tongue when I sleep at night...as if my tongue swells so much that my teeth just seem to make these grooves in my tongue now. oral thrush or somthing else? Well im not sure if i have oral thrush or not and im extremley scared cause of its one fo the symptoms of HIV. First there is a white coating on my tongue in the morning after i sleep it gives me bad breathe aswell, im not able to take it off by just wiping or by wiping it hard, it only seems to come off when i toothbrush and scrape the tongue very well, but when i wake up its there again. i also have 2 cavaties so could that be the contributing problem? i dont have any other white coating anywhere in my mouth although, i do have they spots on my upper gums some are white and some are greyish and you can only see them from up close, they dont scrape off at all and dont not cause me any pain whatsoever they were just there the last time i brushed my teeth a few weeks back and are still here. could they cause by the stress i have, because i have been stressd alot lately thinking about HIV even though i have never had sex whatsoever nor have injected drugs.

Possibly oral thrush.? I have a lite white coating around my tounge.It causes me no pain and there are no lumps.So I looked on the net to see what causes this and you can only imagine the things that came up when I typed in "oral thrush".The 2 big ones being HIV/AIDS and cancer.I've NEVER had sex without a condom but I know it's still possible but rare to catch STDs.Cancer does run in my family but it's mild.A week prior to the infection I was outside in the cold and rain for 3 hours.A few days later,I started getting cold like symptoms.Soar throat,cough,mild headache,etc.But the white tongue came a few days later.The doctor took a look at me and gave me antibiotics for my throat which worked well and all my symptoms went away except the white tougue.My taste is also off slightly.Other than that I feel fine and the white has not spread.It's weird because when I drink water then it practically disappears.I'm thinking of going back to see the doctor.Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Newborn with thrush... Nystatin? My one-month-old daughter, was diagnosed with thrush, two days ago, and was prescribed Nystatin. She was taken to Urgent Care, since she couldn't get in with her pediatrician, for a good while. The doc didn't write down how long to take it! I didn't notice, 'til after we left, and they are hard to get ahold of. It just says to take it until 48 hours, after symptoms resolve... Well, I couldn't even see the white patches, until he used a penlight and tongue depressor, so how am I supposed to know when it's getting better? It seems to be a very mild case. (I was told to use Lotrimin on my nipples, since I'm breastfeeding her.) She hates the stuff, and gags on it; I hate giving it to her... I've read that some people just swab it in her mouth, instead of squirting it, so baby doesn't have to swallow it... Is that good enough? Also, I've read about alternative treatments, such as Grapeseed Extract... Does this really work, and if so, what is the usual treatment? I'm still going to try to get in touch with the docs, but I figured someone on here has dealt with this, before, and could help... Thanks!

How can I get rid of this Thrush? Okay, i'm putting this all out there. I got oral thrush and I'm pretty sure I got it from being with my girlfriend right before she got a yeast infection. You adults no what I mean. I went down on her several times right before she was showing symptoms. Anyways, I got it and now I can't get rid of it. I've had it for 3 months. I've been to the doctor several times and taken prescription dyflucan, the mouthwash, and the tablets to get rid of it. It cleared up from my cheaks and my throat right away but I can't get it off my tongue. Everyday I have to brush it off. I've tried vinigar, peroxide, acidupholus, and gentian violet. I even use a new toothbrush everytime i brush. I don't know what else to do. Can someone help me? I doubt its a reinfection. Its never really gone away completely to begin with. I just brush most of it off. I change my toothbrush everytime i brush and I wash my hands regularly. but the worst of it is always at the back of my tongue so maybe it is still coming up from my stomach. I've already taken Nystatin I've also taken a blood test to check my immune system and for HIV and that came back clear.

What could cause a sour taste in mouth with occasional light yellow coating no pain? I dont feel this is thrush becuase there are no bumps or sores just an occasionally light yellow or white coating near the back of the tongue. I also have a pretty bad sore throath. I get this sour taste, and usually this symptoms show up more after exercise

My ex-boyfriend had HIV and never told me! Now i have Oral thrush and swollen tonsils This is my second post here and i am really desperate, confused and embarrassed with myself. My symptoms have started 4 weeks after our last sex. My sore throat has not subsided for 7 weeks now and my tonsils are hurting and swollen. I had oral thrush for 2 weeks and after antibiotics and Nystatin it healed, but today it is back all over my tongue! My ex-boyfriend told me a week after he broke up with me that he does not deserve me. When i asked him why he said because he is HIV and that i need to get tested. I was devastated and had a nervous breakdown. I could not go to work anymore, I was not only dealing with the loss of my bf but also with the deception and the worry about HIV. I am on two anti depressants now and can't seem to snatch out of this nightmare. i am a mess and I am still in the window period for HIV. I did an HIV anitbody test and a PCR RNA test at 60 days after our last sex and it came out negative, The doctor says i am not in the clear yet. During my two month relationship,I wore a condom during anal sex all the time but the condom broke once or twice. I did not wear one however for oral and all of the foreplay. I feel that my life is over and the anti depressant pills are not working despite upping the dose! I am still depressed and very obsessed and anxious! I feel miserable and cannot wait for the 90th day to retest. I just wish i can sleep and not wake up! I am sorry i only see the world in black these days! Help please! Do I have symptoms of oral cancer? just asking....? I have been experiencing problems lately with the inside of my mouth, as my gums are really white and pale, and when after i bush my teeth, i feel white sticky stuff come out of my mouth like a string then more starts to build up, not sure if that's leukoplakia or not, and I'll be positive, I do not brush my teeth that much, also my tongue is like really white, like thrush, but it has bumps in the back of my tongue....? Getting a CFS Diagnosis? This Summer I was diagnosed with a Reactivated Acute EBV infection. The last one being 10 yrs ago...I have noticed this time around the symptoms are much worse; excessive lymphitis, sleep disturbance, muscle weakness/soreness, leg spasms, headaches, Thrush(tongue) that won't go away after treatment, Eye infections and Ear infections, No appetite and nausea/excessive sleepiness after force feeding myself, and worst of all-depression. This has affected every aspect of my life, including work, relationships-my marriage, etc. I relate to people that have a hard time getting out of bed and getting simple things done everyday like housecleaning. I'm concerned, since some of these symptoms and others(digestion) have been present for years before this recent infection. I am currently pumping up my immune system with herbs and supplements and taking drugs that treat the symptoms such as Cymbalta and Provigil. I was given a prognosis of up to a year to recover. How do I get a diagnosis of CFS? My liver, kidney, and thryroid functions were in the normal range-No Hep C, also been vaccinated for that~! The Provigil is working very well for me. I take one every day. Not sure if the Cymbalta has made much of a dent...might need to try another kind. These are not forever just until I am feeling better..or at least that's what I tell myself in order to keep taking everything!

what is the saky virus? I may be spelling it wrong. or I may have even heard her wrong. My daughters nurse said the indentions in her tongue are not thrush but its something called the "sacky"virus. My daughter has these indentions in her tongue that just started coming up on tuesday and she was complaining about her mouth on monday. She is two. I havent seen any other symptoms. Anyone know what this is?

Is oral thrush an indicator of HIV? First off the bat, I want to apologize if a similar question has been asked already I have flicked through a few pages and not been able to find any. I have a white-ish - sometimes yellow coating on my tongue with red bumps that look like swollen taste buds towards the back of my tongue - the coating is kinda like powder when i scrap it off - It does not seem to be responding to my attempts at treatment - Nystatin suspension, good oral hygiene etc. I understand that this can be considered a possible defining symptom of HIV/AIDS?? As I surf through the net I become more alarmed - I may have also had OHL 6 months ago. I went to the AIDS foundation in NZ which provides a rapid point of care antibody test from unigold - this came back negative. Some infomation on this test would be awesome, as it seems a bit too good to be true - 3 drops of blood 15-20 minutes and WHAM! results. I would love some ideas/pointers as the anxiety is aw full

Mystery Illness - Please Help!? I've suffered from musculoskeletal pain since 19 (I'm 42). Diagnosed with Graves Disease in 1992 at age 24. Went into remission and never had any permanent treatment. About 2 months ago, the following symptoms occurred in this order: 1.Significant hairloss (in male pattern). I have an identical twin and he does not have this problem. I took Minoxidil/Proscar/Avodart and it came back, so I'm fine here now, but it was a symptom. 2.Edema in the right foot, traveled to calf, then both legs, then abdomen, then upper arms. Skin feels sunburn. On the left arm, there is a diffuse light rash. Right arem is fine. 3.My skin is in pain whereever it touches or presses. The pain is sharp and sunburn feeling. 4.My arms, legs, hands, and feet fall asleep, completely numb in the middle of the night. 5.I'm a male, but, my skin in the arms, legs, butt and abdomen look like I've had 3 kids - I have cellulite appearance, stretch marks, wrinkles and bumps (that are hard and tender) underneath the skin (mainly in my inner thighs). And before you call it fat, keep in mind, I am 5'9/142lbs, exercise and mostly vegetarian. This has been going on for two months. I have done the Master Cleanse (I have thrush/Candida tongue) and about to start juicing. I've been to the doctors and this is what comes up consistently: *Elevated RF, Cortisol (went to normal on repeat), Aldosterone, FSH, Low Testosterone % (Total was fine). Nerve conduction study showed a muscle issue. I've seen Neurologist, Cardiologist, Vascular, Hemotologist, Nephrologist, Primary, Dermatologist. Rheum wants me to do Prednisone. All the other specialists think it's inflammation of unknown origin. All the standard tests for autoimmune have shown nothing. Standard inflammation tests are normal - CRP, etc; Dermatologist wants to do biopsy. My new age friend wants me to eat raw for several years blaming it all on diet (but she's a mess herself, so....). My twin brother did steriods, eats whatever he wants and currently has no health issues. I had pericarditis in 2006. My cardiologist believes it's all systemic. I am a very moody, anxious, ass and I used to think I was causing this by my personality, but, when I was on high dose prednisone for the pericarditis (almost died), my physical pain went away, but my mentality and personality changed to such a degree that I realized and I believe that I have chronic inflammation which causes my personality faults. I literally felt the way I did when I was 5 years old in my mind. I felt like I escaped my body and mind. That's how profound it was. I don't want to take prednisone because of the side effects, but I think what's important is to find out why or what is causing this. My Rheumatologist says, "regardless of what is causing it, you need to treat it". I'm on the fence, wanting to taking it to stop this flare because I DON'T want this edema and skin breakdown to be permanent (I'm still single trying to be a stud, you know). None of this is normal health. Any good advice, insight, feedback would be a blessing. Please only serious feedback. Thank you.

a symptom of heartburn/acid reflux? help...? is geographical tongue or candida(thrush) and outcome of a possible heartburn/acid reflux attack. Sometimes I get white spots on my tongue after I eat something spicy and it looks like geographical tongue...but I never really know the difference between geographical tongue and candida...cause I know they both cause white stuff to appear...maybe someone might know! Why do I have a bad taste in my mouth when I eat sugar? So I have had a bad taste in my mouth everytime I eat anything with even a little sugar in it. It is bad enough that I have to brush or rinse well with water to get it out. It almost tastes like fake sugar (like I just poured a packet of Nutrasweet on my tongue)--and I gag at fake sugar. Ugh. Anyone have any ideas at all? Oh yeah, and I'm NOT pregnant, am not taking any meds, have no signs of thrush, or any other symptoms.

Acute HIV Infection ? I know the best way is to be get tested but I cannot wait. I had a sexual encounter with someone who I just met, oral and intercourse went protected but there was a outer contact of genitals unprotected. 2 and a half days later my throat became itchy and one and a half day later I had a white coatig on my mouth. It does not look like thrush though maybe geographic tongue. It gets better during the day and worst in the morning. After that I had swollen lymph nodes. My throat is ok no sores only swollen lymph nodes. I am going to get tested 3 days later with PCR method when I pass 2 weeks. Now questions 1. Can Ars occur this soon? 2. If not Ars what can this be? I saw two doctors and they said it is cold but thinking Ars looks like cold this doesn't help at all. I told them the encounter but they say it is unlikely to be HIV. 3. Is PCR conclusive after 2 weeks? 4. If these because of HIV, then having symptoms mean I have antibodies. How soon sould I get Eliza? health problems two years after visiting a third world country? Ok well i went on vacation to a country called El Salvador. During my stay there the windows were open in the villa i was staying and there were slums across the street. I had insomnia and I developed a chronic upper respiratory infection and i was given some kind of antibiotic. Now its a few years later and i seem to be experiencing strange symptoms possibly unrelated like chronic tension type headaches that grow worse on waking up early i feel like im being ripped from sleep and my head is hurting with a throbbing ache. I seem to have xerostemia or dry mouth alot of the time. My saliva is often sticky. On my tongue in my mouth there is tiny white nodules that have grown in thickly like a paste but the doctor says its not oral thrush. I constantly have dry eyes and I have to rub them to move moisture into them. My muscles seem to be sore most of the time even if i dont exert myself. I got a blood test done and my monocytes are extremely high and lymphocytes are low. Please help

I am really paranoid lately about hiv, need some help? Ok, i had unprotected sex and now im very nervous about what could possibly be happening. Now, before i had any symptoms i researched hiv to learn more about what to look for. Since then, i have developed a very mild case of a sore throat (barely there), but my tongue is white and just today i noticed two bumps on my tongue (one on each side). when i say white at times it looks moderately white then at other times i cant even notice any white at all. yesterday around 12pm i started to get really weak, cold, and tired (flu symptoms) but it only lasted till about 1030pm. Am I dying? If no, what is it? Okay, well i am a crazy hypochondriac and a crazy pessimist as well (not a good combination) but here it goes: I am 17. I am a virgin. I am male. I am afraid that i have AIDS or HIV or something!!! I had 1 sexual contact, if you can call it that, when i was 10. It was that stupid game of you show me yours, and i show you mine... But there was some contact and it has pretty much haunted me for seven years because i am way too afraid (for no real reason) to go to my parents for help. For as long as i can remember now, my tongue has looked how it does... I never thought anything about it really until now! Like 4 days ago the bottom of my mouth, under my tongue, has been really hurting and so has the base of my gums where they attach to my cheek and jaw bone. I started doing research and i think i have a form of tongue fissures. And, also in my research, i discovered that i think that i have oral thrush... This whiteness on the back of my tongue has been there for as long as i can remember! This means that i have been living with this thrush for like almost 8 years!!! Is that even possible? I think i have swollen lymph nodes as well! Like i can like feel my tonsils by just poking my neck... I have large bumps behind my ears... and its almost like i have pebbles hidden away under my skin: my armpits, my neck, even one that moves freely in between my skin and my jaw! I also have like bumps under the skin in my lips... This is similar to the on my jaw mentioned above. I haven't lost any weight; but i have weighed 120 pounds for like 4 years now! And i can't remember whether or not i was sick afterward all those years ago... I do however have like at least 1 sinus infection a year!!! possible immune system problem? And then i think, "well if it were HIV/AIDS, i would know by now!" but all the symptoms seem to be symptoms of AIDS! Plus it can lay dormant in your system for like 10 years!!! But i am pretty darn sure that this other 10 year old didn't have AIDS. And i'm pretty sure two people, not having sex, and completely without AIDS, can't get AIDS... Can they? Plus i have only been really sick like once or twice in the past several years... which makes me think i have a good immune system... but whats with the symptoms and there is always the invisibility of AIDS before it hits! I go through scaring myself like once a year, but this time with the thrush! I don't know, its really scary... The thrush that i have had forever is really the scariest part for me right now... Afraid to have contracted this disease two years ago,please a doctor help me...? Can someone answer me,please? What's wrong with my mouth?? Please Help!? Hi, I am in great need of advice from a dentist. Please forgive the following entry as it is quite graphic. I'm a 23-year-old female who (though I'm embarassed to admit it) began slacking in my oral care regime about two years ago. I'm now constantly suffering because of it. You see, while I've never had a cavity, due to sheer laziness, I stopped rinsing my mouth after brushing my teeth. I still spit out the debris and whatnot, but I don't use any water to properly wash it out. Because of this, my mouth incessantly develops what I can only describe as a "gunky" sensation all the time, and a gooey white buildup is ever-present around my tongue and lips that can be wiped off. According to both my physican as well as my dentist, my tongue and mouth appear to be healthy, but neither of these symptoms ever subside. My doctor has only ever diagnosed this disorder as "oral thrush" and prescribed liquid Nystatin as my solution, but it did absolutely nothing to relieve my condition.

Help? HIV? Something?? I was sexually involved with a guy in april until june. I got tested for HIV in May and I know that is too soon so I'm going to wait until september for another test..but this is the what i am having.. I have thrush all over the inside of my cheek, and on my tongue. My tongue burns and feels sticky..I had nausea and body aches in may and they came back in july and august. I'm wondering how long does it take for HIV symptoms to form its been 3/4 months since I had sex with him. Is that enough time to start getting symptoms? I am flipping out..

Yellow sore on my throat? I looked in the mirror and saw, all the way in the back of my throat, a big yellow cut that looked like a canker sore (although I usually get canker sores on my gums). I would usually dismiss it if it weren't for the fact that it makes swallowing hard and showed up when I started feeling headaches, sore throat, congested nose (which is gone now), and a white tongue with random bald spots (although not bright white like thrush). Is this a coincidence of a cold at the same time as canker sore on my back palate, or is there a single cause behind these symptoms? Thanks!

Side effects of Metronidazole and amoxycillin? I have a dental infection and have been put on a course of Amoxycillin (just two strong doses over 24 hours) and 3 a day for 7 days Metronidazole. I have also been directed to rinse my mouth with ChIorhexidine Gluconate antispetic mouthwash 6 times a day. I have felt generally unwell since taking the medication (which I would probably expect on high dosages) but I also have a rather uncomfortable rough/dry feeling on the underside of my tongue and bottom of my mouth. I don't suppose anyone knows how long this is likely to last or whether it could be a symptom of an infection caused by the medication (I've heard it can cause oral thrush?) Cheers. Does anyone know how long this lasts/whether it will go away.

?'s about- thrush, gentian violet, and yeast infection? the babies tongue is white but not the rest of his mouth or my nipples. when he latches on he sometimes spits the breast right back out. my nipples hurt when he latches on the worst and sometimes they hurt a little during and after he nurses. i assumed all this was normal and since we don't have symptoms of thrush assumed we were okay. but i've read on feb 07 that sometimes what i've described is thrush i was lurking on the feb07 board and they said they are treating thrush with gentian violet which is a non prescription purple dye that is kept behind the pharmacy counter. if we do have thrush it is nearly impossible for me to get to a doctor so i thought i might as well try gentian violet. does anyone know about it or how i can get it (is it at most pharmacies? how much does it cost?) i also think i have a yeast infection and am having a hard time getting my ob to do anything about it. i was in the ER for acid reflux last monday the 19th and they did a vaginal culture but my ob office still hasnt' gotten the results 7 business days later (the ER said they would have the restults in 3 days). is the yeast infection why i might have thrush? can i just take normal monistat OTC instead of messing with my ob? the baby has been crying nearly nonstop (maybe a growth spurt or maybe thrush) so i'm at my wits end and need simple solutions here before i cry myself to death.

I went to the docs yday for some more antibiotics of the same kind because I thought I had a small infection, and I was running out. He gave me some more.
