I have a vaginal yeast infection and now I have small circular bumps on my tongue, is this thrush? I have had oral thrush (tongue) and tried loads of different things for it but wont clear up!? I have had thrush on the back of my tongue for over a month now. I went to my pharmacy and they gave me some daktarin gel, which did not work. I have also had some fungil lozengers from my gp but they also have not cleared it. also tried mouth wash and a spray for my tongue but none worked. It also hurts to swallow food and feel like i am choking when i eat. I have also had constipation (not sure if it is linked) I have recently (about 2 weeks) been feeling very tired all day and needing sleep throughout the day. People have also commented on how regularly i am getting a cold. Any ideas of what could be wrong. And has anyone else had these symptoms?

Hairy Tongue or Thrush? So I was told by both my doctor and my dentist that I have hairy black tongue from long term antibiotic use. Just recently though, the affected area has started to get irritated. Its not hurting, just uncomfortable. I feel like all the taste buds in that triangular area are a little swollen. The dentist (who I saw yesterday) says its nothing, but I feel like he didn't look that closely. Can you have thrush without the white spots? My tongue feels irritated and today I woke up with a sore throat. I know that thrush can be treated with medication, but hairy tongue can't. I just want to be rid of this if possible.

Burnt tongue or thrush? I've had thrush before, but this really isnt like that last time. It feels like I burned my tongue, but don't remember doing so. I have some white patches on the sides of my tongue, but unlike what people have said (or like last time), there is no redness or bleeding at all when I brush my teeth or anything. How do I treat my Oral Thrush without any health insurance? I think I've had Oral Thrush on my tongue and the roof of my mouth for about six weeks now, since I initially developed a viral bronchitus that developed into a secondary bacterial infection in my sinuses. I typically see dr.s in a free community clinic. And I sometimes visit my primary clinic but now have to pay $50 fee each time since I do not have state funded health insurance yet b/c I'm still unemployed. Thrush on tongue and HIV? Two years ago, I got my tongue pierced and noticed soon thereafter that I had a white coating on my tongue. The white coating only lasted a week or two or so, and it went away. A year later, I took the piercing out. I haven't had a tongue ring in for a year and I noticed that my tongue has a white coating on it again. It doesn't hurt and the white comes off when I scrape it. Now that I am looking on the Internet, I am getting freaked out about HIV. I did have unprotected sex once with an iffy partner and I am going to get tested tomorrow for it. I am just wondering what are the chances of a heterosexual female who had unprotected sex two times with a partner for getting HIV so I can calm my nerves a bit!

The Cause of Oral Thrush/Candida Albicans colonising the tongue? I was told by someone in the alternative medicine field regarding reoccurrent oral thrush {even after conventional Amp B Lozenges, Daktarin Oral Gel ect.} that: 'If your doctor is claiming that it's localized to your tounge he's an idiot. It most commonly appears in the tounge once candida becomes systemic.' I'm confused, how does candida get to the tongue, does it: A) travel in the bloodstream and them inhabit/colonise the tongue, well the outer mucousal layer. B) Or does it grow from the intestines through the stomach up the oesophagus and then on the tongue?, since many alt. medicine website claims a reduced levels of acid HCl produced by the stomach cells. C) Or does the antibotics kill the good bacteria on the tongue, and thus damage the good/bad bacterial/fungi ecosystem there, causing candida{which is not affected by antibiotics} to overgrow on the tongue, and thus is oppertunistic. Or is it none of these, please let me know, show me proof/sources, if possible. I know what candida does, i'm not sure of the 'cause'. Anyhow, I'm curious, did you use conventional medicine to cure candida, if so what drugs? And what else did you do to recover?

How do you get rid of a white coated tongue if you're an adult? If I was a kid, I'd think that I had "thrush" but I'm an adult. I've had this most of my life... at least as long as I can remember. What exactly does Thrush look like? My 3 month old has round white spots on the insides of her cheek (nothing on her tongue or throat that I can see). I can't tell if it's formula or Thrush. Do you have answers to my thrush questions? I believe I have thrush. My three week old son I believe has it, too, but at the Express Care clinic I took him to today, the doc said "Maybe- not enough white on his cheeks, but some on his tongue... could just be leftover milk." He wrote a Rx for Nystatin, and said to fill it if my son seemed to turn out to have thrush "For sure". My nipples are stinging, but not peeling and with no whiteness, dots or otherwise. I have been putting Nystatin on my nipples (from an Rx when my daughter had thrush) but it doesn't seem to be helping. It only hurt a bit when we were at the clinic, but it's getting worse. It hurts terribly to nurse. Is this thrush, or could it be something else? I should add that my son has also been crying while nursing. Not every session, and not the whole time. Maybe three quarters of the way through, he'll just get FURIOUS, then he goes back to finish nursing. I'm really stumped. I don't know what's connected and what's not. Can thrush be painful for baby? Last night my daughter started this weird thing of not really eating in the early evening. Yeast infection on tongue? For those who have answers and not guessers. I not sure if I have thrush. Erythromycin & Oral Thrush? Hi not feeling so good so please excuse any mispellings and brief outline. I had serious ear/throat infection ,so bad it ruptured eardrum. I was given Penicillen course for 7 days. I finished that and felt like it was still infected but thought after effects of infection and medication. I eat lots of fresh fruits vegetables and tried to get back to normal but felt worse day by day and hazy vague and temperature so had to go back to GP. She told me infection still there and to make it worse the furry tongue is Oral Thrush caused by first course of Penicillin and she has now put me on Erythromycin for another 7 days and told me to take anti-fungal cream pasted onto tongue four times a day after meals. I cannot see how the two can work together when one causes the other but never mind after meals I really dont feel like eating much today and query how paste on tongue will help as I am on medication that causes yeast imbalance in first place. can anyone help please? Is there home remedies for thrush?? My baby is only 7days old, and has a white tongue. Is this thrush? If so what are some home remedies that would be safe for him to do. Also I think it may have already gotten into my one breast, home remedies for that too. Thanks! I believe that I may be infected too because, it burns and hurts really bad when he feeds from my left breast, position is right, and everything...It doesn't rub off of his tongue.

eczema vs thrush? My 6 wk old son has these tiny little bumps all over his face, head and back of neck. I think it itches him cuz he's always trying to rub his face. at first it was just a few scattered over his face and head and the nurse told me that its baby acne, and not to put anything on it it. I closely watched this for about a week and it started to progress and make him uncomfortable to a point where I had to go in to see the Dr. who said that it is eczema and odered pramasone (a topical cream) for it. Others who have had babies think that it is thrush, and that he should also be taking something oral. What has me concern is the fact that I heard that thrush makes the tongue white. My son's tongue is white. Has anyone's kid experience similar problem, and if so what was used to treat it.

ACNE/ORAL THRUSH hormone inbalance?? im 19 yrs and had what was thought to be by my doctor oral thrush on my tongue a few weeks ago, i was given drops to apply to my tongue and it cleared up, but i ran out of meds just before it was well and truely gone, it has now started to appear all over my tongue again! i am also suffering from very bad outbreaks of spots all over my chest, chin and forehead, which i normaly never used to get :-( and have been suffering lately with no energy at all-my doctor suggested puting me on a drug for my acne but im not sure weather thats going to help with my thrush, does this sound like i could have a hormone inbalance? it seemed to all flar up just before my time of the month a few wks back but has not improved since

tongue problem! please help...? hello, I have been wondering if I have had either oral candida(thrush) or geographical tongue. Let me describe: Sometimes I am good for a while, but some mornings my tongue has these white swirls that almost looke like I took a white colored pencil and drew circles around on my tongue. Sometimes they hurt and usually after I brush my teeth, the white swirls are not that bad. But they usually appear during the day again. Is this geographical tongue or candida? I hear that both can cause white stuff to appear on the tongue, but I hear that Candida(thrush) is more of a white coating all over the tongue...so I dont know. And what I have seems to be just swirls on the side of my tongue or on the top near the tip. Would anyone have any suggestions? Thank you very much!

oral thrush from antibiotics? i just got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday, and so now i'm on my second day of using penicillin. i also noticed that i had a thin layer of thrush on my tongue that comes and goes in spurts. can this be attributed to the antibiotics?

Over the counter meds for oral thrush? After a long course of antibiotics for dental problems i have developed thrush on my tongue :( Does anyone know of any meds I could get over the counter in the uk? The dental problem was my root canal giving me alot of pain. Dentist prescribed 5 days worth of antibioics then a higher dose for another 7 days. All the antibiotics didnt work in the end and i am in the process of having it done again. I have got to go back to have the root canal finished at the end of the week but embarrassed to go because of the mess on my tongue :(

White stuff on baby's tongue? My baby has a milky film over her tongue and her doctor saw it and said, Oh she has a little milk on her tongue". It has not gone away but has not gotten worse. I looked it up and all I could find was thrush. But her tongue looks nothing like the photos and she has none of the symptoms. Could it be something else? what is wrong with my tongue... white with little red bumps? My daughter is 2 weeks old and she has a white coating on her tongue thats been there for about a week....? Can formula leave a white coating on the tongue? Or is this thrush? It's only on her tongue no where else on the tongue. Thanks!!

Ongoing Thrush - HIV? Healthy 30 year old male- what do i do? Nov 06,I kissed a lady for a few min-that is it.A few weeks later I had white dots on the side of my tongue. I went to a walk in and they put me on nystatin-2 days later I went to my MD and he said it is Oral Thrush.He put me on 2 tab of fluconazole. It helped but came back.End of Dec, I did full blood work.My immune system was fine. Well as Feb rolled around it was still there- I did get the HIV test- it was neg.He looked at my tongue and noticed that the thrush is still there and spreading to the back of my tongue.He has put me on fluconazloe for 7 days-1 tablet a day.Could I have received this by kissing the lady?Also, all it says about this when reading about it is that it is HIVrelated.I got tested in Feb and it was neg. Can I have the symptoms but the test result be wrong?Should I get tested again since the thrush is spreading. My MD said if it spreads to the esophagus then it is serious but how do I stop that?When I read about esophagus candiditis that is a AIDS defining illness This is with regards to the previous question.The person that I kissed is taking a HIV test to easy my conscious. Wanted someone to test for tongue paralysis.? While replacing a crown, my dentist hit a nerve in my mouth and I have been in dental pain ever since. Either I have thrush (spelling?) or my tongue has been paralyzed and now hurts in areas because I do not have full use. I am seeking information about who to turn to since I am tired of the pain. The pain is on the side of the tongue and runs across the top of the tongue on a daily basis. Sometimes I notice irratation on both the bottom and top of my gum areas near the front of my mouth. Again, not sure if it is because my tongue does not function properly or what. I am willing to share my personal email to anyone who has great advice. BTW this has been going on for 2 years. PS My dentist basically stated there is nothing he can do. He refunded me all of my money after I went to the Board to complain because he left me with a shaved crown for over 2 months! ouch!

oral thrush or blisters? My baby has blister like things on the inside of his lips, not on his gums just inside his lips. they are getting worse but i cant see anything on his tongue. Thrush....? I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and bronchitis. I was on antibiotics for 4 days. That was last week. Now the back of my tongue and throat is bothering me. Could it be Thrush? I am very tired, my tongue is coated white - more so in the morning, my mouth very dry, my lips cracked at the sides, my tongue has white pin point dots on the sides of my tongue etc...I just went back to a walk in since all the times I was diagnosed with Oral Thrush it was through a visible inspection but this time the doctor scraped some off my tongue and came back and said it is not thrush. All he said was to use a toothbrush scraper and that it is hairy tongue. Too many docs and too many different answers - the test he did should be conclusive right?

Is it mouth thrush? I believe I have mouth thrush, mainly cause I feel that my tongue is the source that causes bad breath.It's really on the back of my tongue, where I feel more smell is coming from. How do I know it? If I lick the outside of my palm it really smells nasty. Especially in the morning it feels really uncomfortable and after eating some sweets. Should I ask my doctor to prescribe Nystatin? i have thrush in my throat which has occured from a recent viral infection.? At the begining of the week i had a viral infection and severe tonsilitis, i have literally just got over it and now have realised i have blisters right at the back of my tongue and throat. My mum says it's thrush, I haven't been to the doctors yet but will on wednesday when my doctors re-opens. I am concerned that if this is thrush this may be contagious. Can anyone help. Also until wednesday when i go to the docs can anyone suggest anything to help to get rid of it?

Oral Thrush, help!? I have had what I think is oral thrush for the past two days. I believe it is thrush because I have white patches on my tongue, my cheeks, and the back of my throat. I also have raised bumps. My roommate has had thrush in the past and is pretty sure that this is what I have. I do not want to go to the doctor as I don't have insurance and usually use home remedies anyway. If anyone has had thrush before and has used home remedies please let me know what you used.
