
Tongue thrush is a fungal infection of the mouth. Normally, there is a healthy equilibrium of naturally occuring fungus and bacteria in the mouth.
Antibiotics or a compromised immune system can throw off this balance such that the fungus (aka candidosis or moniliasis) takes over and forms these white spots and patches on the mouth.
